Dementia Friends Minnesota

Dimentia Alzheimers Education Resources Twin Cities MNBy Eunice K. Neubauer, CSA

Did you know there are over 11,000 individuals that are “dementia friends” in the state of Minnesota?   What is a dementia friend?  It is a person that has taken a 1 hour course to learn about dementia.

Dementia Friends is a global movement that was started in the United Kingdom.    Its goal is to change the way people think, act and talk about dementia.    By helping those in the community to understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for someone living with dementia.

Dementia Friends Minnesota is An ACT on Alzheimer’s Imitative.    There are sessions around the state for Dementia Friends.

To find out more or to sign up for a local class, there is one in St. Paul on the 11th or one in West St. Paul in May go to  http://www.actonalz.org/dementia-friends-0.
