When we reach age 50 many of us find ourselves in conflict about whether to join AARP and boldly ask for our discounts for dinners, gifts, travel etc. Most are still working and feel they don’t need the discounts, and maybe don’t want to admit they are over 50. Boomeranggiving.org has created an excellent reason.
By taking the Boomerang Pledge, you promise to donate some or all of the savings from your senior discounts to a charity of your choosing. It is a simple process. Just save the receipts each time you get a discount. At the end of the month add up your savings and donate that amount to your favorite charity. You can do this directly to the charity or do it through Boomerang.org.
The beauty of it is its simplicity. The pledge is all done on the honor system. You can choose how many months each year you wish to donate your savings and you can change your mind at any time. It is fun to see how much you are saving and even more fun to give those savings to a cause that you care about.
Make next year a Boomerang Year!
