When Breath Becomes Air was a gift for Christmas and it was truly a blessing to read. Kalanithi’s transformation from a medical student to a neurosurgeon and finally into a patient provided various insights of how to live a meaningful life. He wrote, “I would have to learn to live in a different way, seeing death as an imposing itinerant visitor but knowing that even if I’m dying, until I actually die, I am still living.”
